Customer WiFi in your bar: stop dictating the password
"What's the WiFi password?" is probably the sentence a waiter hears most times a day. Dictating it table by table — or keeping it on a blackboard in half-erased marker — is the small daily toll of half the hospitality industry. And still, almost nobody solves it well.
The two classic mistakes
The first is the impossible password: a 16-character string the customer mistypes twice before giving up. The second is the opposite extreme: open WiFi with no password, insecure for your customers and usually saturated by people who aren't even ordering.
The solution almost nobody uses
The WiFi standard allows sharing the connection with a tap, without dictating or typing anything. The customer brings their phone to an NFC chip (or scans a backup QR) and the phone connects on its own, with the right network and password.
The detail that makes the difference
What happens when you change the router password? If it's printed on little signs, you reprint them all. With a centralised system you update it once and every chip keeps working — the physical chip is never touched.
